About our R2 Series
R2 Series Universal In-Ear Monitors – Precision-Tuned for Studio and Stage
A New Standard in Universal IEM Design
The Akoustyx R2 Series was developed as a fresh alternative to traditional in-ear monitors (IEMs), blending the minimalist styling of classic earphones with the acoustic power and fit of studio-grade monitors.
We asked: “Why not build a universal IEM using our proprietary tuned balanced armature drivers, pair it with ergonomic fitting, and give it a completely modern, streamlined aesthetic?”
The result is the R2 — a series engineered from the ground up to deliver studio reference sound with unmatched stability, comfort, and modular fit.
Engineered for Acoustic Excellence
Development began with testing various grades of lightweight aluminum alloy for their impact on resonance and audio quality. From there, we meticulously designed the internal housing structure to deliver accurate acoustic curves and maximize driver performance. The final design balances natural, transparent audio with a build that's made to endure.
Ergonomic Fit Meets Tactical Security
Comfort was non-negotiable. So we looked to a system designed for U.S. military special forces — the EarLock® retention system, made in the USA. This patented fitting solution uses seven secure contact points to keep the IEMs locked in place and fitting consistently every time.
The R2’s modular design allows you to use them with or without the EarLock® kit. Either way, users report they’re so comfortable, you forget you’re wearing them.
Cable Redefined
The R2 features a redesigned over-ear cable connector, helping to anchor the IEM securely in place while eliminating microphonics and tangles. A tether slider ensures additional stability behind the neck for high-movement environments.
With our included in-ear silicone gels or Comply™ memory foam tips, users can achieve up to 24dB of passive noise isolation, ideal for loud environments or critical listening sessions.
Protected by Innovation
The R2’s unique design approach, including its acoustics, connector layout, and modular fit system, is protected by U.S. and international patents. We believe great ideas deserve protection — and the R2 is full of them.
Clean Aesthetics, Professional Presentation
True to its minimalist roots, we’ve kept the visual branding subtle. Our logo is laser-etched into the housing — no loud graphics, no compromise in aesthetics. Just refined, functional design.
